UiPath is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Automation Hub product, a foundational platform helping enterprises identify, prioritize, and scale automation opportunities through AI-powered software.
This is a technical leadership role for someone who remains deeply engaged in architecture, product decisions, and engineering execution—not a pure management position. You'll lead a frontend-focused engineering team while defining the long-term technical vision, product strategy, and engineering culture for one of UiPath's flagship products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the engineering vision and execution for Automation Hub, balancing long-term architecture, customer needs, engineering excellence, and rapid delivery
- Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to define platform direction
- Be deeply involved in shaping what gets built—influencing roadmap discussions, challenging assumptions, and prototyping ideas
- Provide technical leadership through sound engineering judgment, architectural guidance, and mentorship
- Stay close to the technology to review designs, unblock engineering challenges, and guide pragmatic technical decisions
- Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering organization
- Champion AI-native engineering practices to improve velocity, quality, and developer productivity
- Drive a culture of engineering craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and technical excellence
- Partner directly with customers and stakeholders to understand real-world problems and inform engineering priorities
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience building large-scale SaaS products
- Experience leading engineering teams while maintaining strong technical credibility
- Proven track record delivering complex software products from concept through production
- Deep expertise in modern frontend technologies (React, TypeScript, component architectures, state management, modern web development)
- Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native development
- Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy through technical leadership
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and growing high-performing engineering teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across Engineering, Product, Design, and executive stakeholders
- Passion for modern software engineering practices, developer experience, and continuous improvement
- Curiosity and practical experience using AI to accelerate software development
Preferred: Experience leading enterprise SaaS teams, building customer-facing products with strong frontend focus, scaling engineering organizations during rapid growth, familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, and experience in collaborative product organizations where engineering shapes direction.
