You will serve as Director of Business Development & Strategy for Rain's branded payments line of business, reporting to the Head of Payments. This is a senior individual contributor role owning end-to-end growth of the stored value and branded payments opportunity.
Key responsibilities include: developing and executing the growth strategy for branded payments from opportunity identification through partner close and launch; building and managing a prospective partner pipeline, leading commercial conversations, and structuring mutually beneficial deals; shaping go-to-market strategy including positioning, target segments, pricing, and launch sequencing; partnering closely with Product and Engineering to translate market feedback into roadmap priorities while ensuring commercial commitments are technically feasible; coordinating cross-functionally with Go-to-Market and Partnerships teams; setting strategic goals and reporting progress to leadership; and representing Rain externally as a credible voice on stored value and branded payments.
Required qualifications: 8+ years in financial services and branded payments with GTM and strategy experience; intellectual curiosity and commercial judgment; proven track record in business development, partnerships, deal-making, and commercial negotiation; ability to work cross-functionally with Product and Engineering, translating between commercial and technical perspectives; demonstrated strategic-level operation including goal-setting, prioritization, and planning in undefined markets; strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bonus experience includes stablecoins, card issuing, blockchain-based payment infrastructure, launching new product lines or business units from early stage, and existing relationships with potential branded payments partners (retailers, platforms, fintechs).
