Havoc AI, founded in 2024 and headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island, is a leader in all-domain collaborative autonomy. The company develops software-defined hardware that powers military and commercial-grade autonomous systems across sea, air, and land, enabling assets to sense, decide, and act together in complex and contested environments. You will lead the engineering organization responsible for integrating Havoc's autonomy stack onto unmanned air, surface, and ground vehicles. You will build and manage a multidisciplinary team of robotics, embedded, and systems engineers tasked with developing the hardware and software interfaces needed to rapidly transform existing robotic platforms into fully autonomous, collaborative systems. Key responsibilities include: leading and growing a multidisciplinary engineering team; developing architecture, tooling, and processes for rapid autonomy integration onto new unmanned platforms; designing standardized interfaces for sensors, payloads, communications, actuators, and vehicle controllers; owning integrations across autonomous air, maritime, and ground systems; partnering with autonomy, perception, hardware, cloud, and product teams; building reusable integration frameworks; overseeing bring-up, validation, debugging, and field testing; establishing engineering standards and documentation; supporting customer demonstrations and operational deployments; and mentoring engineers. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; 8+ years robotics or autonomous-systems engineering experience with 3+ years leading technical teams; demonstrated experience integrating autonomous systems onto robotic platforms; strong ROS2 and distributed robotic software architecture experience; embedded Linux and embedded computing platform development; deep understanding of autonomy systems, perception pipelines, localization, sensor fusion, and navigation; sensor integration experience (cameras, LiDAR, radar, IMUs, GNSS); real-time communications and robotics networking; strong C++ and/or Python development skills; ability to troubleshoot complex hardware/software integration issues in lab and field. Preferred: PX4, ArduPilot, MAVLink, DDS, Zenoh experience; AI-based perception and computer vision; robotic actuators and mission payloads; modular hardware/software interface design; defense, maritime, aerospace, or autonomous-vehicle program familiarity; operational robotic system deployment; active U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain one. This is a full-time, onsite role in North Kingstown, RI with approximately 25% travel for field testing, customer demonstrations, and operational deployments.
