Qumulo is seeking a Director of Account Management to lead the expansion motion for commercial and mid-market customers. This is a player-coach role where you'll build and lead a small team of Account Managers while directly managing your own portfolio of existing customers. You will own the full expansion strategy and execution: building playbooks for add-on capacity, cross-sell, upsell, new workloads, and expansion-tied term extensions. You'll establish direct relationships with technical, business, and economic stakeholders at customer organizations, reducing reliance on partner-led access. You'll manage team pipeline, forecast, and commit with CRM hygiene and inspection readiness. Collaboration is key—you'll partner with Customer Success Managers to convert adoption into qualified pursuits, share renewal accountability, and bring in Sales Engineering and specialist resources at the right moments. You'll coach your team on expansion strategy, negotiation, and territory planning while modeling the motion in your own accounts. The role requires 5+ years of quota-carrying B2B account management experience with recent personal carry across a book of existing customers, ideally with consumption or usage-based cloud model experience. You should have a track record growing accounts across a high-volume book (100+ accounts) and experience building sales or expansion processes from scratch—segmentation, cadences, playbooks you created and drove. Experience working alongside Customer Success, Renewals, and Sales Engineering is essential, as is ownership of forecast and commit. The ideal candidate can work 2-3 days per week from Qumulo's Downtown Seattle headquarters. Bonus experience includes background in cloud infrastructure, data management, unstructured data storage, or other technical complex hardware/software environments. Qumulo's cloud data platform manages exabytes of the world's most demanding data, unifying files, objects, and every workload across edge, core, and cloud. The company serves 1,100+ customers running mission-critical workloads in AI, HPC, observability, genomics, medical imaging, geospatial, media, and video surveillance.
