Jerry is an AI-powered platform managing physical assets (cars, homes, motorcycles) through insurance, repairs, financing, and maintenance. The company started with car insurance in 2019, became a top-3 US broker, and has reached 5M+ customers with $240M+ raised and profitability since early 2024. They are now expanding into home, motorcycle, and adjacent product lines.
You will own the end-to-end partnerships motion for Jerry's new verticals, reporting directly to the VP of Partnerships. This is a newly defined space—there is no existing playbook for home, motorcycle, and adjacent products. Your core responsibilities include:
- Build and manage the partnerships pipeline from initial outreach through signed agreement and successful onboarding
- Lead independent conversations with insurance carriers and partners, qualifying fit, understanding needs, structuring value propositions, and closing deals
- Design creative deal structures for partners who don't fit standard models, finding alternative arrangements when the obvious path fails
- Own partner success post-close, working cross-functionally to ensure new partners ramp, stay engaged, and become long-term relationships
- Contribute to vertical strategy by feeding ground-level insights about partner constraints and opportunities into product sequencing and structuring decisions
The role is heavily cross-functional, requiring collaboration with product, engineering, data science, legal, finance, and executive leadership on every deal. You will work on complex deal structures with long sales cycles (many taking months, some not closing). The organization is lean and flat, so you will flex between strategic and hands-on work.
The company is remote-first but has offices in Palo Alto, New York City, Chicago, and Toronto. You can work hybrid or in-person if preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or strategy consulting with a track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
- Experience building 0-to-1: launched a new partnership category, entered a new market, or built a BD function without inheriting a working model
- Background combining at least two of: consulting/structured problem-solving, BD/sales execution, early-stage startup operating experience
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior external stakeholders and navigate large partner organizations independently
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present complex deal structures simply and credibly to executives
- Must currently reside in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada (full-time salaried); or AZ, FL, GA, NV, NY, NC, TN, TX, UT, VA (full-time hourly)
