The Farmer's Dog, a venture-backed direct-to-consumer pet food company that has delivered over 1 billion meals and raised $150M+, is seeking a Director of Marketing Strategy, Planning & Operations. This role serves as the connective tissue across all marketing pillars, reporting to marketing leadership and partnering with Finance and every marketing function to build and manage the budget, bring rigor to planning, and ensure all channels align to shared goals. Key responsibilities include owning the end-to-end marketing budget process (planning, allocation, in-year reprioritization, reporting) so all marketing leaders and Finance partners work from a single trusted view of spend. You'll analyze and recommend cross-channel investment optimizations using CAC, LTV, retention, and ROI metrics to inform media mix decisions. You'll partner with marketing leadership and Finance to build annual and quarterly budget scenarios, translating business goals into funding recommendations with clear tradeoff analysis. You'll assess and surface risk across the marketing plan by focusing on pacing, channel concentration, dependency, and forecast variance, bringing forward mitigation options proactively. You'll build the operating cadence encompassing planning cycles, budget reviews, cross-pillar syncs, and reporting rhythms so every marketing channel and team is oriented around the same goals. You'll serve as the analytical backbone for marketing leadership, turning performance and spend data into clear, defensible recommendations that inform investment decisions. This is a highly quantitative role sitting at the intersection of strategy, finance, and operations. The company culture emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, customer-centric thinking, hypothesis-driven work, and impact over best practices. You'll partner with Finance, Data, and every marketing pillar including Acquisition, Lifecycle, Brand, and Creative to keep planning assumptions, KPIs, and definitions consistent across the organization.
