Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The company is developing both a rocket and an advanced manufacturing system from the ground up. The Engine Manufacturing team is dedicated to delivering high-performance engines and advancing innovative manufacturing systems that continuously improve cost, quality, and lead time. The team has successfully developed and refined processes for initial development engines and is now focused on producing flight engines at rate for Terran R's aggressive launch manifest. As Director of Manufacturing Engineering for Valves, you will lead the valve manufacturing engineering function, reporting to senior leadership. Key responsibilities include: - Develop and implement build and test solutions to increase production rate, reduce touch time and hours, and improve build quality to support increasing production rate - Partner with design teams to drive future design trades on valve components, improving valve functionality, build rate, manufacturability, and reliability - Lead efforts to build up novel processing technologies aimed at high-volume valve and component manufacturing - Lead both tactical and strategic planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods and processes for new and existing products - Communicate and interface regularly with key stakeholders and employees throughout the organization You will manage a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians, shaping decisions and seeing your work come to life in record time.
