Instructure is seeking a Director of International Communications to lead corporate and product communications strategy across key international markets (EMEA, Latin America, and Asia Pacific). This senior role reports to the VP of Global Communications and owns all PR, communications, and thought leadership strategy outside the US and Canada.
You will develop and execute communications narratives and messaging pillars tailored to regional markets, integrating PR and communications into broader marketing strategies. Key responsibilities include leading media relations with journalists and analysts across international markets, directing external PR agencies, managing regional spokespeople through proactive and reactive communications, and coordinating the distribution of global announcements with local relevance.
The role demands close partnership with cross-functional teams including marketing, content, events, field marketing, sales, product, and social media. You'll build relationships with journalists, analysts, and influencers; position thought leadership through byline articles and interviews; manage crisis communications; and produce quarterly earned media and share-of-voice reports. You'll also partner with product teams to connect communications to product launches and growth initiatives.
This position requires a seasoned communications leader with 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, strategic communications, public relations, or analyst relations, including senior leadership roles. You must have proven success building and running communications programs across EMEA, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. Deep expertise in PR, social media, and message development is essential. Full fluency in English is mandatory, as all meetings, strategic planning, and communications are conducted in English first.
You should be a proactive self-starter with excellent cross-functional leadership skills, strong collaboration abilities, and the judgment to set strategy while executing when needed. The ideal candidate communicates with confidence across all mediums, builds strong relationships at all levels, and thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. A bachelor's degree in business, communications, or related field is required.
