Andela, a global talent marketplace connecting top technical talent from 135+ countries with enterprise customers, is seeking a Director of External Relations to lead Public Relations and Analyst Relations programs. Reporting to the VP of Global Marketing, you will own the full external relations function: strategy development, agency management, team leadership, and execution of high-impact programs that build Andela's credibility and visibility globally.
In the PR function, you will develop and execute Andela's global PR strategy encompassing executive thought leadership, product announcements, corporate milestones, and brand storytelling. You'll build and maintain relationships with key journalists and media outlets covering technology, AI, the future of work, hiring trends, and emerging markets. You'll manage PR agencies, serve as a strategic communications advisor to the executive team, oversee development of press releases and op-eds, track earned media coverage, and manage crisis communications planning in partnership with legal and leadership.
In Analyst Relations, you will design and lead Andela's analyst relations program with key industry analysts at firms like Gartner. You'll develop tiered engagement strategies including briefings, inquiries, advisory sessions, and analyst days. You'll manage Andela's positioning in key analyst vendor evaluations (Magic Quadrants, Waves, MarketScapes), coordinate cross-functional input from Product, Sales, and Marketing, socialize analyst intelligence internally, negotiate analyst firm contracts, and oversee peer review programs.
You will directly manage one full-time External Relations team member, providing coaching and development. You'll build scalable processes, playbooks, and reporting frameworks to support a growing communications function. Cross-functionally, you'll partner with Marketing, Product, Sales, and People teams to align external communications with business priorities, support high-visibility moments like product launches and funding announcements, and represent Andela at industry conferences and media events.
Andela values exceptional leadership characterized by low ego, one-team mentality, strong listening skills, ownership mindset, scrappiness, and business problem-solving orientation. The company emphasizes that leadership at Andela doesn't require managing people—it's about being a role model and trusted advisor.
