Klaviyo seeks an experienced Director of Events to lead the vision and execution of the company's event strategy, reporting to the VP of Brand/Creative/Events. This role owns both Klaviyo's flagship annual user conference (K:BOS) and third-party event presence at industry shows like NRF, Shoptalk, and eTail. Key responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive year-long events strategy that drives brand awareness, generates qualified pipeline, and deepens community engagement. You will own a multi-million-dollar events budget, forecasting spend, negotiating vendor and agency contracts, and reallocating investment to maximize ROI. The role requires presenting to marketing and executive leadership to build investment cases and report on impact. You will lead and develop the events team, including direct management of a Senior Events Manager and event contractor, providing coaching and structure for their success. You'll drive alignment with agencies, internal stakeholders, and production partners to deliver on-brand experiences while setting creative and operational standards. Cross-functional collaboration is essential—you'll partner with marketing, sales, customer success, product marketing, and executive teams to ensure events strategy supports broader go-to-market and brand goals. You'll own promotional planning for events, including microsite strategy, lifecycle campaigns, paid promotion, and internal enablement. Additionally, you'll measure event performance with the Field Marketing team and translate results into strategic recommendations. The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of hands-on event management experience at fast-paced, growth-oriented B2B SaaS or consumer brands, with at least 3+ years as a people leader. You should have a proven portfolio of event experiences with compelling success metrics, experience with partnership and co-branding activations, and a track record of directing agency relationships to deliver high-caliber outcomes. You're a strategic thinker who can set vision while staying close to execution, an exceptional communicator comfortable with senior stakeholders, and a confident decision-maker who navigates ambiguity with composure.
