Klaviyo is seeking an experienced Director of Events to lead the vision and execution of the company's event strategy, reporting to the VP of Brand/Creative/Events. This role owns both Klaviyo's flagship annual user conference (K:BOS) and third-party event presence at major industry shows like NRF, Shoptalk, and eTail.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive year-long events strategy that drives brand awareness, generates qualified pipeline, and deepens community engagement. You will own a multi-million-dollar events budget, manage vendor and agency contracts, and present ROI metrics to marketing and executive leadership. The role includes direct people leadership of a Sr. Events Manager and event contractor, providing coaching and structure for team success.
You'll drive alignment across internal stakeholders (marketing, sales, customer success, product marketing) and external partners (agencies, production companies) to deliver on-brand, high-impact experiences. Responsibilities span strategy and big-picture vision through on-site execution, promotional planning for lead generation and registrations, and measurement of event performance to inform future investment decisions.
The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of hands-on event management experience in fast-paced, growth-oriented B2B SaaS or consumer brands, with at least 3+ years as a people leader. You should have a proven portfolio of event experiences with compelling success metrics, experience with partnership and co-branding activations, and a track record of directing agency relationships to deliver high-bar creative and operational outcomes. You're a strategic thinker who can set vision while staying close to execution, an exceptional communicator comfortable with senior leaders, a natural collaborator who builds strong cross-functional relationships, and a confident decision-maker who navigates ambiguity and high-stakes moments with composure. Proficiency with AI tools (Claude/ChatGPT), Salesforce, and event platforms (Splash, Swoogo) is expected.
