Anduril Industries is seeking a Director of European Strategic Communications to build and lead the company's external communications presence across Europe from the ground up. Based in Amsterdam and reporting to the VP of Global Communications with a dotted line to Anduril's European General Manager, this is a senior individual contributor role as Anduril's first dedicated communications hire in the region.
You will own strategy and execution across multiple European defense markets, establishing media relationships, developing market-specific narratives, and building agency and contractor networks as the business expands. Key responsibilities include:
- Building Anduril's European communications program from scratch, developing strategy and executing across markets with varying maturity levels
- Driving media relations across defense, technology, business, and policy outlets in priority European markets
- Developing market-specific narrative strategies that connect Anduril's mission to each country's defense priorities, industrial ambitions, and security context
- Supporting market entry, customer engagement, partnerships, and key events alongside the European General Manager and business development teams
- Building and managing a network of regional agencies and contractors
- Partnering with global communications, policy, and marketing teams to adapt messaging for European audiences
- Engaging think tanks, research institutions, and policy communities to build credibility and shape discourse around defense innovation
- Establishing metrics and reporting frameworks to track progress and demonstrate impact
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of communications, public affairs, or media relations experience with deep fluency in the European defense and political landscape across multiple countries. You should have a proven track record of building communications programs in new markets, managing agencies and regional networks across borders, and exceptional strategic thinking and writing skills. This is a builder role requiring autonomy, judgment, and the ability to navigate complexity across different countries, threat perceptions, and industrial interests while maintaining strategic coherence.
