Redis is seeking a Director of Developer Marketing to build and lead a standalone developer marketing function. This role sits at the intersection of developer relations, content strategy, and community building—critical as Redis positions itself as essential infrastructure for AI agents and real-time data systems. You will own multiple levers: field advocacy through events, hackathons, and speaking engagements; content engineering including how-to guides, demo apps, and reference implementations; active community management across Reddit, Stack Overflow, Discord, and Slack; and driving key metrics like developer sign-ups, sentiment tracking, and third-party validation. The function is designed to make Redis the default choice when developers (and their AI agents) need memory and real-time data infrastructure. Key responsibilities include building and scaling a team of developer advocates who serve as the human face of Redis in the developer community; commissioning and producing high-quality technical content that developers can immediately use; actively participating in developer communities to answer questions and surface insights to product; tracking leading indicators like agent recommendation rates and developer sentiment; and cultivating external advocates and third-party validation. You should have a track record running or scaling developer relations, developer marketing, or community functions at developer-tools or infrastructure companies. Technical credibility with engineers is essential—you don't need to ship production code, but you must understand what engineers building production AI agents actually need and earn their respect. You should have a portfolio of developer content you've produced or commissioned that developers genuinely use. You're fluent with leading indicators and how to move them, have a point of view on the AI-builder ecosystem and where it's heading, and bring operator instincts: focused team building, bias toward shipping, and judgment about what matters most.
