Figma is seeking a Director of Communications to reimagine corporate communications at a public company. This is a strategic leadership role that goes beyond traditional PR playbooks to define a new model for how public companies communicate. You will define and drive Figma's corporate storytelling strategy end-to-end, from narrative development through execution across channels. This includes creating integrated campaigns that cut through traditional media, owned platforms, and executive communications. You'll partner with cross-functional teams—finance, investor relations, legal, brand studio, product, and design—to translate business and financial momentum into clear, compelling stories. Key responsibilities include: developing breakthrough story angles that position Figma at the center of industry conversations; working closely with executives to shape narratives for business and financial audiences; building relationships with top-tier business and financial reporters across the U.S. and U.K.; staying ahead of the news cycle while proactively creating opportunities; and growing your scope as the company scales. You should be equally comfortable in a spreadsheet and on social media, capable of crafting campaigns around quarterly earnings and cultural moments. You speak the language of finance and can translate it for broader audiences without oversimplifying. You embrace ambiguity, collaborate by default, and are energized by leading a team and building something new. Required: 12+ years of in-house corporate communications experience; track record of building and scaling communications programs and teams from the ground up; strong business and financial fluency; experience in fast-paced environments where direction isn't always defined; demonstrated point of view on storytelling beyond conventional PR. Preferred: understanding of product design, software development, or cloud-native applications.
