Hebbia is an AI platform for investors and bankers, founded in 2020 and backed by Peter Thiel and Andreessen Horowitz. The company powers investment decisions for BlackRock, KKR, Carlyle, Centerview, and 40% of the world's largest asset managers, helping manage over $30 trillion in assets globally. As Director of Business Operations, you will report to the President/CTO and lead a broad remit spanning board preparation, company planning, pricing and consumption economics, and go-to-market decision support. You will serve as the connective tissue between finance, go-to-market, and product, turning ambiguous executive and board questions into decisions, owners, and numbers that drive operational change. Key responsibilities include: - Drive board preparation end-to-end: build the operating narrative, coordinate inputs and deck preparation, and clarify decisions and ownership. Finance owns official financials and investor diligence. - Own the commercial and economic side of pricing and consumption: customer cost-to-serve, margins, packaging, rate cards, deal rules, discounting, renewal migration, and sales enablement. Product owns metering and billing; Engineering builds supporting systems. - Own revenue and GTM decision analytics: pipeline coverage, quota and capacity scenarios, account economics, and investment tradeoffs. Sales and RevOps own CRM integrity and day-to-day cadence. - Run annual and quarterly planning: operating plan, headcount and target tradeoffs, QBRs, and plan vs. actual. Track spend, burn, and run rate with Finance. - Lead strategic analyses and cross-functional projects: strategic-account deal economics, ABM investment choices, build/buy decisions, and pricing experiments. - Partner with GTM as a credible counterweight: earn trust with Sales leadership to decline deals with poor economics while actively contributing to enablement. You will run this function as a team of one, setting priorities, conducting analysis yourself, and working cross-functionally to turn decisions into operating changes. You will have direct influence on how Hebbia prices, plans, and allocates capital. REQUIREMENTS: - 7+ years across strategic finance, business operations, management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or corporate strategy, including experience in a startup operating role. Experience in a larger, scaling company is valuable. - Personally led board preparation, built operating narratives and metrics, and worked with Finance to present an accurate business picture. - Worked on consequential pricing and packaging decisions; ability to reason from usage, costs, customer value, and Sales behavior. Direct experience with enterprise usage or consumption pricing is a plus. - Financial modeling rigor that drives decisions. Strong instincts for P&L, customer unit economics, company burn and run rate, and resource allocation. - Comfortable as sole owner in high-ambiguity environment with no team to delegate to; judgment to re-prioritize as company needs change. - Credible with Sales, Finance, and Product. Comfortable speaking directly with customers to test pricing and understand commercial needs. - Deep AI curiosity is a must; AI-native fluency is a big plus. Should already be using these tools to do your own work better. - Comfortable working in person five days a week in SoHo NYC or San Francisco office.
