Bright Harbor Healthcare seeks a Development and Grant Associate to support comprehensive grant research, proposal development, and grant-related writing. This full-time role (35 hours/week) works closely with the Development Team and contributes across fundraising, donor and community engagement, special events, social media, agency communications, relationship development, and departmental operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Research local, county, state, federal, foundation, and corporate funding opportunities aligned with organizational programs and strategic priorities
- Draft, edit, and prepare high-quality grant proposals, applications, letters of intent, concept papers, and funding requests
- Review funding opportunity notices, RFPs, and solicitations to identify eligibility, submission requirements, evaluation criteria, and deadlines
- Coordinate application materials and assist with timely electronic and portal submissions
- Support grant reporting, continuation applications, renewals, and post-award activities
- Assist with planning and implementation of fundraising strategies, campaigns, and appeals
- Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, community events, donor activities, and program launches
- Attend community meetings, networking events, coalition meetings, and funder events
- Develop and manage social media content to increase awareness of programs, community impact, events, and partnerships; create, schedule, and coordinate engaging posts and campaigns
- Maintain organized electronic records, calendars, grant files, prospect information, and tracking systems
- Assist with data entry, mailing lists, contact records, event registrations, and routine development functions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Non-Profit Management, Public Relations, Marketing, Social Sciences, Business, or related field (equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered)
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in grant writing, non-profit development, fundraising, communications, or related field (preferred)
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to synthesize complex programmatic and financial information into clear, compelling language
- Demonstrated professional writing ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and comfort learning grant portals, databases, social media platforms, and design tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, responsive team environment
- Experience researching and interpreting government, foundation, and/or corporate funding opportunities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as required
