Diagrid is seeking a Developer Relations Engineer to be the public face and community heartbeat of Dapr (a CNCF graduated project) and Diagrid's commercial platform (Diagrid Catalyst). You'll own community growth, content creation, and developer engagement end-to-end, reporting to leadership while collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing, Sales, and the open-source maintainer community.
Key responsibilities include: growing the Dapr open-source community by driving contributor growth and adoption across GitHub and Discord; moderating and nurturing the ecosystem through active community engagement and technical support; creating compelling technical content including blog posts, tutorials, architectural guides, and sample applications; leading webinars, workshops, and live demos on a regular cadence; managing the Dapr/Diagrid YouTube channel including scripting, recording, editing, and publishing; coordinating events, meetups, and conference talks in the Bay Area and globally; building reference architectures and demo applications showcasing Dapr in production and AI agent use cases; gathering developer feedback to influence product direction; and representing Diagrid publicly through conference speaking, podcasts, and social media engagement.
You should have 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, or microservices. Prior Developer Relations, Developer Advocate, or Community Manager experience is expected. You'll need hands-on coding ability in Python, Go, TypeScript, or .NET, and familiarity with Dapr or similar projects (Temporal, Camunda, Orkes). A track record of creating content that gained traction—blogs, videos, talks, or open-source contributions—is essential. You should excel at community building, have moderated communities or grown open-source projects, and be a strong communicator who can explain complex distributed systems concepts clearly. Conference speaking experience, knowledge of AI agents and workflow orchestration, and existing relationships in cloud-native or AI developer communities are nice-to-haves. You must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and thrive in a fast-moving startup environment with high ownership.
