Phonic is a product and research lab building the most realistic, human-like voice AI conversations. The company has rethought the entire stack—from models to product—to create voice agents that understand context, respond emotionally, and perform agentic tasks with frontier intelligence. The team includes top-tier AI researchers, international olympiad medalists, and former founders. Customers are building voice-native AI products in customer support, healthcare, and logistics. As the first Developer Relations hire, you will own the full spectrum of technical content marketing, product marketing, and brand marketing. This is a solo function—you are the entire marketing wheel, not one spoke in a larger org. Your responsibilities include: - Writing and editing technical blog posts, turning raw drafts from engineers and founders into sharp, publishable content for technical audiences - Owning product marketing: translating Phonic's technology into clear positioning and messaging that resonates with customers and prospects - Owning brand marketing: building and maintaining a consistent, compelling voice across all channels - Creating witty, sharp social media content that stands out - Supporting the sales pipeline by handling deal follow-ups, preparing materials, and coordinating next steps to maintain velocity You should have clean, coherent writing skills; a distinctive voice for social media; strong storytelling ability to translate technical work into compelling vision; a degree from a top school; and 2–5 years of relevant experience in content marketing, product marketing, brand marketing, DevRel, or similar roles. Nice-to-haves include interest in sales/ops, prior DevRel experience at agencies or dev-tool companies, VC background, or an MBA. The company is fully in-person in San Francisco and emphasizes a talent-dense, closeknit team with high trust and ownership culture.
