Chainalysis is seeking a Deployment Strategist to serve as an embedded technical advisor for financial services customers in Japan. This role bridges analytical expertise, financial crime compliance knowledge, and strategic customer partnership, operating at the intersection of technical delivery and business outcomes.
You will own end-to-end customer engagements with banks and financial institutions, starting with deep discovery and investigative work, progressing through solution design, deployment, and long-term enablement. Your responsibilities include understanding customers' operational goals, risk requirements, investigative needs, and compliance challenges, then developing bespoke workflows that enable organizations to leverage Chainalysis independently.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage complete customer lifecycle from discovery through investigation, solution design, deployment, enablement, and ongoing value delivery
- Partner directly with banking and financial institution stakeholders to translate investigative, compliance, fraud, AML, and operational objectives into actionable outcomes
- Design and build custom workflows, notebooks, dashboards, queries, and data models using Chainalysis data and products
- Enable customers to operate solutions independently, embedding Chainalysis into their operational infrastructure
- Serve as primary technical and domain advisor, building trusted relationships through hands-on expertise
- Deliver training, demonstrations, investigative walkthroughs, and technical briefings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Support pre-sales technical engagement for complex financial services opportunities
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to influence roadmap based on customer intelligence
- Develop and share financial services domain expertise and best practices across the team
Required qualifications:
- Professional experience working directly with banks or financial institutions
- Fluency in spoken and written Japanese (required)
- Background in cryptocurrency investigations, blockchain intelligence, financial crime analysis, AML, compliance, or fraud in an operational environment
- Deep understanding of how banks manage financial crime, compliance, risk, and digital asset exposure
- Familiarity with blockchain ecosystems (BTC, ETH, stablecoins, DeFi) and on-chain data applications
- Experience delivering customer-facing technical solutions in complex environments
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and solution development
- Ability to build notebooks, dashboards, and analytical workflows
- Strong data modeling and querying skills
- Proven ability to build long-term relationships with banking customers through technical credibility
- Excellent communication skills for varied audiences from analysts to senior executives
- Comfort leading customer sessions, workshops, and technical working groups
