Cognition is an applied AI lab building end-to-end software agents, known for creating Devin, the first AI software engineer. The founding team includes world-class competitive programmers, former founders, and leaders from Scale AI, Palantir, Cursor, Waymo, Tesla, Google DeepMind, and other cutting-edge AI companies.
As a Deployed Engineer, you will be a customer-facing technical expert responsible for helping customers maximize value from Devin. You'll work directly with engineering teams to understand their workflows, identify high-impact use cases, and deploy Devin into production environments. Key responsibilities include owning all technical aspects of the customer lifecycle from deployment through activation, leading demos and pilots, supporting integrations, and driving platform adoption.
You will build deep relationships with customers' engineering teams, ensure smooth product integration, and activate top users. You're expected to listen to customer feedback, implement requested features when appropriate, and advocate for customer needs internally. You'll exercise product instincts to help shape the roadmap and serve as the customer oracle.
The role combines hands-on technical work, customer partnership, and rapid execution. You'll switch context frequently, stay ahead of potential blockers, and take ownership of outcomes. Success requires proactive problem-solving and sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
Required qualifications include native or fluent Spanish proficiency, a strong engineering foundation from a rigorous technical environment, and a demonstrated track record of exceptional performance. You must be self-directed, with strong communication skills and high tolerance for ambiguity and intensity. Willingness to travel 25–50% is required.
Ideal candidates have advanced proficiency in modern programming languages (Python, TypeScript), experience writing and debugging real software systems, and a desire to work directly with users on high-impact technical problems. Early-stage startup experience or roles requiring you to operate beyond your job description are valued.
