Cognition is an applied AI lab building end-to-end software agents, known for creating Devin, the first AI software engineer. The founding team includes world-class competitive programmers, former founders, and leaders from Scale AI, Palantir, Cursor, Waymo, Tesla, Google DeepMind, and other cutting-edge AI companies.
As a Deployed Engineer (DE) in EMEA, you will be a customer-facing technical expert responsible for helping customers maximize value from Devin. You'll work directly with engineering teams to understand their workflows, identify high-impact use cases, and deploy Devin into production environments. Your responsibilities include leading demos and pilots, supporting integrations, and driving adoption of the Cognition platform.
Key responsibilities:
- Own all technical aspects of the customer lifecycle from deployment through activation
- Work closely with customers to understand technical challenges and identify optimal Devin use cases
- Build deep relationships with customers' engineering teams to ensure smooth integration and adoption
- Listen to customer feedback and implement requested features when appropriate
- Advocate for customer needs with the internal product and engineering teams
- Exercise product instincts to help inform roadmap decisions
You'll operate in a fast-paced environment, switching context frequently, staying ahead of issues, and taking ownership of outcomes. This role combines hands-on technical work, customer partnership, and rapid execution.
Required qualifications:
- Fluency or native proficiency in Spanish (mandatory)
- Strong engineering foundation from a rigorous technical environment
- Demonstrated track record of exceptional performance (academic, athletic, professional, or entrepreneurial)
- Self-directed; able to prioritize and execute without constant direction
- Strong communication skills; comfortable engaging with senior engineers and executives
- High tolerance for ambiguity, intensity, and sustained effort
- Willingness to travel 25–50%
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in modern programming languages (Python, TypeScript, etc.)
- Experience writing and debugging real software systems
- Direct experience working with real users on high-impact technical problems
- Background at early-stage startups or roles requiring operating beyond job description
- Ability to learn quickly in challenging, real-world environments
