Salary: USD 150,000 - 250,000 / annual
LangChain is seeking a Deployed Engineer to work directly with enterprise customers building and operating AI agents in production. This is a hands-on, highly technical role at the intersection of engineering, product, and go-to-market.
You will co-architect and co-build production AI agents with customer engineering teams, owning the technical win from pre-sales POC design through post-deployment advisory. Responsibilities include designing and evaluating agent architectures, helping customers deploy and operate agent-based applications (conversational agents, research agents, multi-step workflows), running technical demos and workshops, and surfacing field feedback to inform platform improvements.
The role requires 6+ years in a relevant technical role (software engineering, customer engineering, solutions engineering, or founding/product engineering), ideally in a startup or scale-up environment. You must have strong Python and JavaScript skills, systems fundamentals, and hands-on experience designing agent-based or LLM-powered applications beyond simple API calls, including multi-step workflows, orchestration, and failure handling.
You should be comfortable working directly with customers during POCs and technical evaluations, able to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to developer audiences, and take responsibility for outcomes. A bias toward action and comfort with ambiguity are essential. Experience deploying AI agents in production using LangChain, LangGraph, or similar frameworks is highly valued, as is familiarity with LLM evaluation, observability, guardrails, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Travel to customer sites is expected up to 40% of the time. This role offers the opportunity to work on real-world production AI systems that teams depend on, with fast feedback loops and visible impact on how AI agents are built at scale.
