Botpress is an AI agent platform for customer support, building AI agents that resolve support tickets for teams handling real conversation volume. The company is Series B and anchoring on a sales-led motion. You will own the marketing half of pipeline generation for new accounts, from mid-market through enterprise. The core challenge: building predictable demand through experimentation and multi-channel approaches. The company knows its product and target market but is still learning which channels reliably bring the right prospects in. You'll run a few proven channels and manage a portfolio of experiments in parallel, with the expectation that you'll kill what doesn't work early and communicate transparently. Key Responsibilities: - Events: Own the vision and execution for private invite-only events and industry conference presence (dinners, rooms, activations). Marketing leads strategy; Sales brings attendees. You have resources but own the full vision. - Direct mail and gifting campaigns - ABM programs: Design and execute plays against the named-account list from first touch through sales handoff - Paid media: Manage agency or in-house campaigns on a small budget that must prove ROI incrementally to scale - Outbound engine inputs: Own targeting, segmentation, messaging, and content for BDR sequences; manage the prospect list alongside the BDR team - Experiment portfolio: Decide what to test, in what order, and what to learn from each play - Vendor and agency management: Brief, budget, and make keep/cut/bring-in-house decisions First 90 Days: - Improve paid ads impact - Launch an invite-only in-person AI workshop for target accounts - Run a direct mail campaign experiment - Evaluate and decide on the outbound vendor (keep, cut, or bring in-house) - Build initial ABM plays against the named-account list with the CRO and Sales - Integrate podcast, events, and outbound into a multi-threaded motion so target accounts hear from Botpress multiple times You report to the VP Growth/Marketing, who provides structured feedback through monthly reflection 1:1s, bi-monthly coaching check-ins, and specific, early, visible feedback. Day-to-day collaboration with the CRO, sales team, partner lead, design lead, and managed agencies. The BDR team sits in Sales; you own the prospect list and outreach strategy alongside them. Account selection is decided jointly by Marketing, Sales, and the CEO. The marketing team is small, senior, and hands-on, covering growth, product-led growth, SEO, content, brand, and design. Paid and outbound run through managed agencies. The team scales with AI by design—people build their own skills and agents on the Botpress platform, and every two weeks there's a Marketing AI Open Hour where team members showcase what they've built. Requirements: - Curious and strategic: You follow threads (why, what would prove it, what's the smallest test), reflect strategically, form a point of view, and ship experiments anyway. - High follow-through: You finish what you start and close loops without being chased. - Effective delegator: You cover more ground by handing work to agencies, freelancers, and teammates with clear briefs. - 80/20 instinct: You identify the few high-impact initiatives and start there. You test the minimum viable version before full investment. - Channel depth with versatility: You may be expert in one channel (e.g., paid) but must be willing to build event and direct mail plays from scratch. - Heavy AI adoption: You lean on AI in thinking, processes, and agents. This is core to the team and company culture. You should articulate how you'd enhance the team with AI thinking. - Balance of evidence and instinct: You read the numbers and trust your read of a room, account, or message. You can articulate which you're using and why. - Intellectual humility: You quickly acknowledge when you're wrong and can discuss failures you're genuinely proud of and work you're slightly embarrassed by.
