OpenAI's Go To Market team is seeking an experienced Account Director focused on Cybersecurity to own executive-level relationships with leading cybersecurity firms and help them deploy OpenAI's AI products across their organizations. This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, Seattle, or New York (3 days/week in office), with US remote options available.
You will drive the full enterprise sales cycle—from pipeline generation through closure and successful deployment—helping cybersecurity customers identify and scale high-impact AI use cases across security operations, threat intelligence, risk management, incident response, vulnerability management, workforce enablement, customer support, and enterprise knowledge management. You'll own a consumption revenue target and manage forecasts.
Key responsibilities include: supporting Account Directors on opportunity qualification and deal execution; building trusted relationships with senior executives across technology, security operations, engineering, and risk management; leading enterprise prospects through consideration, use-case identification, and deployment phases; partnering with solutions and research engineering teams on complex customer programs; navigating legacy systems, security requirements, and global stakeholders; analyzing account metrics and reporting insights; monitoring the cybersecurity industry landscape to inform product roadmap and strategy; collaborating cross-functionally with solutions, marketing, product, and engineering; and supporting team recruitment, onboarding, and culture development.
Required qualifications: 14+ years of enterprise software sales experience with significant cybersecurity focus; proven track record selling complex enterprise technology solutions to CISOs, security operations, AppSec, and risk teams; deep understanding of cybersecurity business models, threat landscapes, technology ecosystems, and transformation priorities; experience developing executive relationships within security organizations; ability to navigate complex, global accounts with multiple stakeholders; demonstrated skill connecting emerging technologies to measurable business outcomes (productivity, efficiency, quality, innovation, resilience, revenue growth); and a minimum of 3+ years achieving $2M+ annual revenue targets.
