Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history, delivering unprecedented geospatial data via a cloud-based platform to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. The company controls every component of hardware design, manufacturing, data processing, and software engineering. This Customer Success Manager role focuses on supporting U.S. Defense and Intelligence customers, helping them derive maximum value from Planet's imagery, platform, and services. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor and relationship manager for DoD and Intelligence Community accounts, ensuring successful onboarding, training, and adoption of Planet's geospatial solutions. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with Defense and Intelligence customers; ensuring successful onboarding and training of new customers; providing hands-on technical support and training on Planet's platforms and data; assisting customers in expanding usage and adoption; acting as an internal advocate for customers while representing Planet externally; maintaining consistent communication throughout the contract lifecycle; collaborating with Sales, Product, Support, and Professional Services teams; and identifying expansion opportunities and managing renewals. You will bring 4+ years of experience in Customer Success, account management, or related fields, with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Critical qualifications include experience collaborating with the U.S. Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community; proficiency in remote sensing, GIS, or geospatial imagery products, particularly in DoD and IC applications; technical experience with remote sensing platforms; and experience with geospatial software such as QGIS, Esri products, or equivalent. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills are essential, along with flexibility to travel as required. Standout qualifications include an active or ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance; experience supporting GEOINT missions; technical affinity around APIs; and Python scripting experience. This is a full-time, hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the Arlington, VA office.
