Planet operates the world's largest constellation of imaging satellites, delivering geospatial data to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. As Customer Success Manager for Civil Government, you will manage and expand relationships with public sector entities across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa—including national governments, regional authorities, municipalities, and supranational organizations like space agencies and UN programmes.
You will ensure customers maximize value from Planet's imagery and geospatial solutions, integrating data into workflows for environmental monitoring, emergency response, land management, maritime surveillance, and sustainable development. This role requires deep expertise in navigating complex government structures, procurement cycles, and multi-country stakeholder networks.
Key responsibilities include owning gross and net retention metrics across your customer portfolio, partnering with Account Executives on unified account strategies, proactively mapping long-term account trajectories to identify risks and expansion opportunities, and co-creating success plans and quarterly business reviews that demonstrate ROI. You will build strong relationships across complex stakeholder networks, lead cross-functional internal teams through critical milestones, and handle high-stakes situations with composure.
You bring 4+ years of customer success, account management, or similar customer-facing experience, ideally with government organizations. A bachelor's degree is required. You have working knowledge of remote sensing, GIS, or geospatial imagery products and can bridge technical workflows with commercial value. You understand sales organizations and commercial business models, acting as a consultative partner who navigates trade-offs and aligns customer requests with strategic goals. Excellent communication skills in Russian and English are essential, along with willingness to travel. The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the Haarlem, London, or Berlin office.
