CoLab is an AI platform that helps mechanical engineering teams bring products to market faster by building a knowledge repository of design feedback and decisions. AI agents learn from this repository to flag issues on future designs before they compound. The company serves major customers like Ford, Komatsu, and Johnson Controls, and has been recognized on Deloitte's Fast 50 and Fast 500 lists.
As a Customer Solutions Engineer (CSE), you'll work at the intersection of product, sales, and customer success. Your primary focus is the post-sales experience, partnering with existing customers to drive complex deployments and transform how engineering teams collaborate. You'll help organizations adopt new ways of working enabled by CoLab to achieve ambitious outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Mapping customers' current-state design review and engineering workflows, and defining target-state processes they'll actually adopt
- Leading change management across engineering teams, turning initial deployments into durable ways of working
- Preparing and delivering engaging, specific demos that showcase how CoLab addresses customer pain points
- Partnering with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to solve challenging customer problems
- Acting as a trusted advisor on what's possible with AI in mechanical engineering
- Collaborating with Product Managers to incorporate mechanical engineering perspectives into product development
- Sharing customer insights with Product to ensure alignment with customer needs
- Instructing cross-functional teams on engineering topics relevant to CoLab's capabilities
- Working with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product to improve go-to-market strategy
While this role focuses on the CSE function, the strongest candidates can flex across Solutions Engineering (pre-sales) and Mechanical Forward Deployed Engineer roles. CoLab is rapidly growing its aerospace and defense customer base, and this role will shift toward prioritizing A&D customers within 6 months. You'll specialize in making new ways of working stick in highly regulated environments with decades-long programs and rigorous configuration control, proving value at each step so adoption spreads.
