OpenAI's Enablement Lead (Builder) role is a post-sales technical enablement specialist focused on helping enterprise customers successfully adopt and operationalize OpenAI's AI products. The role bridges technical depth, instructional design, and customer advisory to accelerate time-to-value and deepen product adoption. You will design and deliver high-impact technical learning experiences covering OpenAI APIs, Codex, agents, evaluations, and platform capabilities. This includes leading live trainings, workshops, and adoption interventions for audiences ranging from hands-on engineers to C-suite executives. You'll work cross-functionally with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Product, and internal technical teams to define tailored enablement strategies for each customer's use case and goals. Key responsibilities include: owning technical enablement across OpenAI's product suite; leading customer training across the full lifecycle from onboarding through expansion and optimization; designing and delivering training engagements including bootcamps, executive briefings, and hands-on workshops; driving measurable business value through structured adoption programs; developing reusable training assets and best practices; gathering and synthesizing customer feedback to inform product improvements; and serving as a subject matter expert for designated product areas. Success means accelerating customer confidence, increasing adoption, helping customers reach production use, and scaling lessons learned into resources that benefit many customers. The role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid model of 3 days in-office per week. Relocation assistance is available. You should have 4+ years in customer-facing or instructional roles with C-level and senior technical audiences in complex enterprise environments. Strong technical depth in software engineering, SDLCs, APIs, and practical understanding of how AI systems are built, evaluated, and operated in production (RAG, evaluation strategies, agentic systems) is essential. Proven experience leading structured technical trainings, exceptional presentation skills, and ability to connect technical features to business outcomes are critical. You're comfortable thinking on your feet in live settings, adapting quickly, and are personally committed to safe and ethical AI evolution.
