Thatch is building a customer advocacy function from the ground up, and this role owns the program end-to-end. You'll design and execute a formal sales reference process that connects the right customers with the right prospects at the right time, directly supporting pipeline and win rates. Beyond references, you'll develop a customer advocacy motion that turns Thatch's strongest customers into public voices—through case studies, speaking opportunities, webinars, podcasts, conferences, and a community of HR leaders who chose to do things differently.
As a builder, you'll define the program mechanics, systems, and community from scratch. This means designing scalable processes for managing advocates, tracking availability, and measuring outcomes. You'll use AI and automation to operate efficiently at scale. Your responsibilities include building a strong bench of customer advocates and creating experiences that make participation genuinely valuable for them—not extractive.
You'll work closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to ensure alignment and avoid overusing your strongest advocates. You'll measure impact across reference usage, content creation, pipeline influence, and win rates.
The role requires 8+ years in customer marketing, advocacy, community, or related functions, with a proven track record of building customer reference or advocacy programs from scratch. You should have experience turning customer relationships into measurable business outcomes and strong judgment about when to push back on asks that aren't right for customers. Experience in fintech, HR tech, benefits, healthcare, or other trust-driven B2B categories is a plus, as are existing relationships with industry analysts, media, or conference organizers.
