The Credit team at Revolut designs and scales lending features that power global expansion. They manage the complete product lifecycle from backend systems to customer-facing experiences, combining market insight, risk expertise, and technical precision to deliver safe, forward-thinking solutions tailored to each region.
As Credit Manager (Policy), you will design credit risk policies, procedures, and strategies for retail lending features. You'll manage validation of underwriting strategy and lead both preventative and reactive actions to market and product offerings.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop account-level valuation and credit underwriting policies using NPV frameworks to improve portfolio-level economic returns
- Make data-driven decisions with focus on marginal decision-making
- Manage credit limits, risk-based pricing, retention strategies, and over-limit policies
- Adjust risk-return requirements and manage portfolio returns as new data emerges
- Support annual budget, forecast, and planning processes from concept to delivery
- Track, communicate, and draw insights from performance of ongoing initiatives while monitoring credit KPIs intensively
- Identify operational inefficiencies and manage implementation of small-scale changes within the Credit department
- Ensure approval and good rating of first-line credit risk function from second line, third line, and regulators
Requirements:
- Experience managing the risk cycle for retail credit products (credit cards, unsecured personal loans, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree from a top university in a quantitative/analytical field (engineering, statistics, physics, maths, economics, or management)
- Solid understanding of credit policy governance frameworks to work through 2nd/3rd line of defence competently
- Track record of delivering excellent results that exceed requirements
- Forward-thinking approach to plan appropriately, meet multiple objectives, and proactively identify/resolve issues
- Knowledge of credit and behavioural scoring models, especially for retail credit products
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and simply
- Understanding of the value of speed to market and ability to balance elegant problem-solving with business needs
- Knowledge of the German housing and mortgage market
Nice to have:
- Master's degree
- Excellent working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, and/or other data analysis tools
- Willingness to learn new technology to help the business scale
