Rocket Lab is seeking a Cost Analyst to join the finance team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role sits at the intersection of manufacturing, finance, and ERP operations, ensuring accurate costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting across the organization. Key responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of costing and inventory data within the ERP system, reconciling production orders, work-in-progress, and cycle counts, and reviewing standard costs and Moving Average Unit Costs (MAUC) for accurate valuation. You will support month-end processing, including engineering cost and project cost accounting. Cross-functional collaboration is central to the role. You will partner closely with the New Zealand finance team to explain costing methodology and financial impacts, align activities with the US cost accounting team on corporate standards, collaborate with ERP teams on testing and deployments, and provide training to finance and business users on costing processes and system functionality. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience, at least five years in general ledger and cost accounting, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proven variance analysis capability, experience ensuring GAAP or IFRS compliance, and advanced Excel proficiency. Desirable qualifications include CMA certification, manufacturing or aerospace/defense industry experience, and hands-on ERP experience with platforms such as Infor LN, Oracle, JDE, or SAP.
