Rally Networks, a growing broadband provider, is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead accounting operations during rapid network expansion and customer growth. This role is responsible for safeguarding company assets, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The position requires specialized expertise in telecommunications accounting, including complex capital expenditure (CAPEX) tracking for fiber and infrastructure builds, telecommunications tax compliance, revenue recognition for subscription services, and federal/state grant accounting (BEAD, USDA ReConnect). Key responsibilities include overseeing all accounting operations (AP, AR, payroll, general ledger), leading month-end/quarter-end/year-end close processes, and producing financial statements and dashboards for executive leadership. The Controller will manage large-scale infrastructure deployment accounting, ensuring proper capitalization of labor, materials, and overhead, and track project-level budgets versus actuals. Grant compliance is critical: the role oversees financial tracking, reporting, and reimbursement requests for federal and state broadband expansion grants (BEAD, RDOF, ARPA), ensuring strict adherence to grant guidelines and audit requirements. The Controller manages deferred revenue and subscription-based revenue models for residential and commercial broadband plans, installation fees, and equipment leases. Additional responsibilities include partnering with external tax advisors on corporate taxes, telecommunications-specific taxes (USF, state PUC fees), and property taxes related to network infrastructure. The role involves inventory management of network equipment, routers, fiber optics, and field supplies, as well as contributing to external audit activities. The Controller will recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team, fostering continuous improvement and professional development. The role includes evaluating, upgrading, and optimizing accounting and ERP systems, as well as billing software integrations specific to the ISP industry. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; active CPA designation strongly preferred. Minimum 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role. Prior experience in telecommunications, broadband, ISP, or heavy infrastructure/construction industries is required. Technical skills include deep knowledge of US GAAP (fixed asset capitalization, ASC 842 lease accounting, ASC 606 revenue recognition), federal/state grant accounting, telecom regulatory compliance, and advanced proficiency in mid-to-large tier ERP systems (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) and telecom billing systems.
