Pillar is a pre-seed construction management platform serving Italian contractors and construction companies. The company is building software to solve endemic problems in construction: late cash collection, margin visibility, labor cost management, and compliance tracking.
You will own Pillar's marketing voice and messaging strategy. This is an early-stage role where you define the company's tone and positioning rather than inherit it. The core challenge: make complex industry problems (cash flow, profitability, invoicing) feel obvious and urgent to busy contractors reading on their phones at dawn.
Key responsibilities:
1. Blog: Write original, SEO-optimized articles that rank and hold reader attention. Focus on real data, real examples, and genuine insights—never summaries of existing content.
2. Weekly newsletter: Create content worth two minutes of your audience's time. No pitches, just value. This is where Pillar's voice shines most clearly.
3. Website and landing pages: Craft headlines, argument structures, information hierarchies, and CTAs. You'll write variants, test them, and iterate based on data.
4. Growth loops and automation: Write email sequences, onboarding flows, and product communications that work autonomously months after creation.
5. Sales enablement: Create emails and materials supporting the sales team. Prove you can write to sell, not just write well.
You'll report to the Growth Marketing Manager and collaborate closely with the brand/organic social team. The approval process is fast, and autonomy grows quickly. You'll have access to real conversion data and will own the responsibility for making words land.
Ideal candidate: 3–5 years of copywriting or content writing experience (in-house, agency, or freelance). You write genuinely—starting from blank pages and problems, not assembling existing copy. You love writing as a craft, not just a skill. You understand modern copywriting technique (PAS, framing, loss aversion, social proof, curiosity gaps) and apply it strategically. You can shift voice between sales emails and long-form articles while maintaining brand consistency. You're pragmatic, collaborative, and prioritize speed without sacrificing quality. Bonus: B2B and B2C experience, startup background, or a track record of building audiences unlike yourself. Construction experience is not required; fresh perspective is valued.
