Ozow is a fintech company redefining digital payments in South Africa and beyond. We are seeking a Content Strategist who will take strategic briefs from the Marketing Manager, conduct research, and produce high-quality written content across long-form pieces, white papers, case studies, web copy, social media, and supporting collateral. You will own our social channels end-to-end and brief production work to our internal studio and external partners. Key Responsibilities: Writing & Content Creation: Produce high-quality, interrogable content across multiple formats (long-form, web, social, collateral) that can be built upon rather than rewritten. Translate content ideas across channels without losing substance. Research & Technical Depth: Build content on real research rather than surface observation. Develop genuine understanding of payments products and the broader fintech industry. Write for a considered, knowledgeable business audience. Content Strategy Contribution: Contribute materially to the content strategy owned by the Marketing Manager. Interpret strategic briefs and determine optimal execution across channels. Work closely with leadership to refine the content approach. Production Briefing & Management: Unpack strategic briefs into specific, actionable design, animation, and video briefs. Manage delivery through internal studio and external partners while meeting deadlines amid continuous content demand. Social Media Management: Own publishing and scheduling across Ozow's owned channels. Run community management and respond to engagement in brand voice. Report on channel performance and adjust approach accordingly. Performance Reporting: Report on content and channel performance against campaign and funnel metrics. Use performance data (lead volume, conversion, transaction rates, revenue) to inform future content. Apply data insights rather than repeating historical approaches. Tools & Processes: Use work management tools for brief intake, delivery tracking, and production visibility. Keep content processes, brand voice guidance, and documentation current. Support adoption of new systems within the marketing function. AI & Automation: Apply AI tools thoughtfully in research, drafting, and repurposing without compromising accuracy or voice. Identify and automate repetitive steps in content production, publishing, and reporting. Stay current with content and marketing technology developments. Required Qualifications: - Relevant marketing, communications, or journalism qualification - Demonstrable portfolio of written content across multiple formats, including long-form - Clear evidence of technical or product depth in writing (not only brand or lifestyle content) - Experience writing for a considered, knowledgeable, or business audience - Experience developing briefs for design, animation, or video production - Hands-on social media channel management experience (publishing, reporting, community management) - B2B content experience or clear evidence of ability to work well in B2B context - Background in payments, fintech, SaaS, technology, or another complex-product sector Preferred Qualifications: - Formal technical writing experience or background - Writing of briefs for designers, other content writers, and video production - Case study and thought leadership writing experience - Familiarity with work management tools for brief intake and delivery tracking - Experience working alongside an internal studio or design function
