Rec is an AI-powered platform transforming how people discover and book recreation activities—from tennis courts to swim lessons to rec leagues. The $3T global recreation market remains largely fragmented and untouched by technology. Rec sits at the intersection of a consumer product loved by everyday players and an enterprise platform trusted by Parks & Recreation departments and private operators.
You'll join a lean, high-caliber team (founders from Uber, The Athletic, MasterClass; builders from Google, Microsoft, Strava, Hipcamp, Airbnb) as Content Marketing Lead, reporting to the Head of Revenue and partnering closely with the Head of Growth Marketing.
This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role—not a management position. You own Rec's narrative across three audiences: Parks & Recreation directors evaluating the platform, private recreation operators, and the market watching Rec build density metro by metro. You'll do the interviewing, drafting, editing, and shipping yourself, pulling in contractors only to extend capacity.
Key responsibilities:
- Turn real Rec deployments (cities, facilities, program directors) into case studies, testimonials, and short-form video assets; build a reusable library of proof points for Sales, ABM, and events.
- Translate Rec's AI capabilities into clear, concrete stories grounded in real workflow change—not abstract "AI" messaging—for practitioners who care about getting time back.
- Build sales and campaign assets (decks, one-pagers, landing pages, email copy, proposal content) modular enough to adapt by market, persona, and buying stage.
- Own Rec's content calendar and voice across website, blog, and social, with attention to SEO and AI-driven answer engines (AEO).
- Interview partners, Sales, Product, and Customer Experience directly; synthesize messy input into accurate, credible, fast-to-ship content.
- Partner cross-functionally with Growth Marketing (demand gen, ABM, pipeline), Sales, Product, and Customer Experience to ship content in service of live deals and campaigns.
You bring 5–8 years of B2B content marketing at startups or scale-ups, with real case studies, customer stories, or sales enablement assets to show. You're a strong, clear writer across formats (long-form, case studies, video scripts, decks, web copy). You're comfortable picking up the phone to interview customers and turning conversations into stories—closer to journalism than copywriting. You have working knowledge of SEO and AEO, and experience partnering directly with Sales or Demand Gen to build assets used in live deals. You're a self-starter comfortable owning strategy and execution alone in a lean team. Bonus: vertical B2B/AI storytelling or short-form video production experience.
