Ashby is seeking a Content Lead to own the startup audience strategy and execution. This is a 0-to-1 opportunity to build and scale Ashby's blog presence targeting startup talent leaders and hiring-focused founders, while also developing a strategic X.com (Twitter) publishing approach.
You will be responsible for developing a comprehensive blog strategy from first principles, establishing Ashby's voice and positioning in the startup hiring conversation. You'll publish consistently, drawing inputs from SEO/AEO research, customer intelligence from calls, the partnerships team, and go-to-market stakeholders. The role requires high output velocity—regular, quality writing that maintains Ashby's brand voice while optimizing for both search and AI-powered discovery.
Beyond the blog, you'll build a native X.com strategy tailored to how startup founders and talent leaders actually communicate on the platform. This isn't content repurposing; it's channel-native thinking. You'll collaborate closely with Ashby's Partnerships team, who run strategic activations for the VC talent community, ensuring resources and messaging are sharp and genuinely useful for in-person events and engagement campaigns.
The role emphasizes owning an audience end-to-end rather than owning a single content type. You'll think critically about what startup talent leaders and founders need next, whether that's a blog post, an X thread, or resources for a partnership activation. You'll pull together customer intel, SEO data, and partner context into cohesive, on-brand content.
This is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for writing daily, deep care for the startup community, and excitement about the challenge of AEO (AI-powered search optimization) without sacrificing brand voice. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, resourceful in gathering inputs, and energized by building something from scratch. This is not a role for someone who wants a fully built playbook, prefers distance from customers, or views content as siloed by type rather than unified by audience.
