Anduril Industries is seeking a Compute Systems Architect to design and build AI Factories and Command/Control centers—specialized, high-performance computing systems designed to process petabyte-scale data in forward operating bases. These are air-transportable, power-constrained, hardened systems optimized for AI inference at the tactical edge, deeply integrated with Lattice OS. You will own the end-to-end architecture of tactical AI/HPC data centers, from compute hardware selection through power architecture, networking, and thermal cooling systems. This includes designing GPU-accelerated compute clusters (NVIDIA H100/A100, AMD MI300) optimized for AI inference and training workloads, engineering advanced thermal solutions for high-density compute without traditional data center infrastructure (liquid cooling, immersion cooling, hybrid systems), and designing air-transportable, modular systems (containerized, palletized, vehicle-mounted) that are rapidly deployable. Key responsibilities include building infrastructure optimized for austere and contested environments with extreme temperatures, limited grid power, SCIF-accreditable security, and electromagnetic hardening. You will work in tight coupling with Lattice and AI/ML teams to ensure physical infrastructure meets mission-critical software requirements, partner with defense customers to translate operational requirements into technical architectures, and lead prototyping, field testing, and operational validation through military exercises and real-world deployments. You will drive systems from concept through production at scale, working across hardware, software, supply chain, and program teams, and define standards and best practices for tactical AI compute infrastructure. Required: Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; 5+ years designing and deploying data center infrastructure, HPC clusters, or large-scale compute systems; 8+ years engineering experience designing and deploying electrical products; deep expertise in GPU-accelerated computing for AI/ML workloads; strong understanding of power distribution systems for high-density compute; experience with thermal management for high-power-density systems; proven track record building production infrastructure from concept to scale; systems thinking across competing constraints; U.S. Person status; ability to obtain and maintain security clearance; up to 15% travel. Preferred: AI/ML infrastructure background; high-speed compute networking experience; edge computing or autonomous systems familiarity; 3-phase power distribution or HV battery systems; tactical military systems or ruggedized computing background; military environmental standards knowledge.
