Thea Energy is a fusion energy company leveraging breakthroughs in stellarator physics and engineering to commercialize fusion as a clean, limitless energy source. The company has developed a novel approach using computer-controlled arrays of planar coils to replace the complex modular magnets required in traditional stellarator designs.
As Director of Nuclear Engineering, you will lead the nuclear engineering team and oversee all aspects of nuclear design and safety for Thea Energy's first-of-a-kind integrated fusion system. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the nuclear engineering program and team
- Orchestrating nuclear design and establishing safety parameters for the fusion system
- Ensuring all designs meet regulatory compliance and safety standards
- Driving the technical strategy for nuclear systems integration
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (physics, mechanical engineering, operations) to deliver safe and efficient nuclear designs
- Establishing best practices and processes for the nuclear engineering function
- Contributing to the organization's overall success through safe, compliant, and efficient engineering execution
