Griffin is a fully regulated UK bank providing banking infrastructure and payments solutions to fintech platforms and product-led companies. You'll join the Operational Controls team within the Service Guild as the first dedicated compliance advisor in the first line of defense, working closely with the second-line Protect team and across all operations functions.
In this role, you'll embed compliance into Griffin's product design, sales, and operations. You'll advise on regulatory requirements across product development (from concept through launch), product lifecycle management, sales enablement, marketing compliance, operational procedures, and regulatory change management. You'll investigate compliance issues, report on compliance risks and customer outcomes, and collaborate with the second line to ensure strong governance foundations.
Success means your operations, commercial, and product teams bring you in early by default because working with you makes things smoother, not slower. You'll guide major launches like card issuing from first idea to go-live, ensure live products have clear governance and outcome monitoring, and help the second line identify fewer surprises with a stronger compliance foundation in place.
Key responsibilities include: turning regulation into clear requirements and customer journeys; managing product lifecycle compliance through fair value assessments and outcome monitoring; reviewing sales materials and partner risk fit; ensuring marketing and financial promotions comply with regulation; building regulatory requirements into operational procedures; interpreting and implementing regulatory changes; investigating and reporting on compliance issues; and working collaboratively with second-line risk and compliance teams.
Griffin is remote-first since 2017, with flexible asynchronous work. There's a small London office in Moorgate for those who want it, but no expectation to be there. The company has grown rapidly since launch in 2024 and is expanding into card issuing, stablecoin infrastructure, and agentic finance.

- Ability to interpret and apply FCA rules to new situations

- Strong writing skills with emphasis on clarity and readability
**Ideally:**
- Deep expertise in at least one specialist area (payments, cards, Consumer Duty, BCOBS, financial promotions, or similar)
- Background in finance or banking
