The Legal team at Airwallex sits at the center of strategic business decisions, partnering closely with product, sales, and business development teams. The team balances rapid product innovation with regulatory discipline, helping the company scale its global licensing footprint while maintaining best-in-class brand and data architecture for customers navigating the agentic economy. As Senior Counsel, Product Legal (Yield), you will serve as lead counsel for Airwallex's Yield product, a wealth-management or investment-product offering. You will scale this product across existing and new markets by providing comprehensive legal, regulatory, and strategic advice throughout the full product lifecycle—from design and licensing through regulatory engagement, partner arrangements, customer terms, disclosures, and launch execution. Key responsibilities include: - Acting as a trusted business partner to Yield Product teams and cross-functional stakeholders - Advising on legal and regulatory aspects of new product ideas and enhancements from ideation through launch and expansion - Coordinating with local counsel across multiple jurisdictions (Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, US, UK, EU) to determine optimal market-entry strategies - Translating complex legal and regulatory requirements into actionable solutions integrated into product development, including product requirements, customer terms, and launch materials - Identifying synergies and efficiencies in product development across jurisdictions and developing scalable legal frameworks, playbooks, and processes - Collaborating with Regulatory Compliance, Product Marketing, Licensing, Risk, and regulated partners (banks, broker-dealers, custodians, investment managers) on product governance and partner arrangements You will work closely with global Yield Product teams and partners across Product, Regulatory Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Licensing, Risk, Product Marketing, and Operations. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Qualifications: - JD (or equivalent law degree) and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction - 7+ years of post-qualification legal experience, with some experience at a top-tier law firm - Experience advising on investment products, discretionary or non-discretionary management, broker-dealer arrangements, custodial relationships, investment-management structures, or related customer disclosures and documentation - Strong regulatory advisory and/or product counseling experience with a reputable law firm, financial institution, or fintech, including at least 3 years advising on wealth-management products - Proven track record as a solution-oriented lawyer who works strategically with non-lawyers to support commercial outcomes - Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with ability to work effectively across Product, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Marketing, external counsel, and senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions - Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-jurisdictional legal workstreams, prioritize competing demands, and take ownership of advice from product ideation through launch and expansion Preferred Qualifications: - In-house legal experience in fintech, financial services, wealth management, asset management, securities, brokerage, or other regulated financial-services environments - Experience working across securities, investment-adviser, investor-protection, fiduciary, suitability, or equivalent regulatory frameworks in multiple jurisdictions - Experience building scalable legal playbooks, product-governance processes, launch checklists, or other tools that improve legal efficiency - Comfort operating in high-standards, fast-iteration environments with evolving priorities, demonstrating curious, collaborative, and ownership-oriented approach
