Hinge Health, a digital health company leveraging AI to automate care for joint and muscle health, is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its legal team. This role focuses on supporting commercial, sales, and procurement teams by drafting and negotiating contracts, managing deal closure, and advising on healthcare regulatory matters. Key Responsibilities: - Lead contract reviews and negotiations for the commercial team, serving as the primary legal contact - Identify and mitigate legal risks in commercial contracts through creative problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration - Develop and refine contract templates and workflows to improve efficiency; support implementation of contract management systems and provide training to business partners - Advise internal clients on healthcare regulatory risks, privacy regulations, and contract interpretation - Contribute to projects outside the commercial sphere as needed The ideal candidate is a self-starter comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment at a recently public company. You'll work closely with other lawyers and have direct access to leadership, with clear opportunities for growth and learning. Requirements: - J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school - Admitted to and in good standing with at least one state bar - 5+ years of experience with strong expertise in drafting and negotiating healthcare and technology contracts Preferred Qualifications: - Digital health company experience - Familiarity with AI tools for legal work - Experience with TPA/payor contracts, healthcare contracts, referral/reseller agreements, and SaaS service agreements - Knowledge of insurance law, privacy law, ERISA, benefits law, and/or healthcare fraud/waste/abuse laws - Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management systems (e.g., Ironclad) - Prior law firm or in-house digital health experience - Strong judgment balancing legal risks with business strategy - Ability to work independently, manage workload in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with flexibility and humor
