Safe Software is seeking a Community Specialist II to support the technical side of the FME Community, which serves close to 50,000 users. This role bridges technical content creation and community management, requiring someone comfortable both writing for end users and understanding backend systems.
You will write technical content including how-tos, tutorials, KB articles, and blog posts tied to new FME features. You'll support community automations and workflows using FME Flow, Gainsight, Slack, and community platform tools, while monitoring community health through Gainsight/CRM data and reporting on trends. Content editing and enhancement of others' work is a key responsibility, as is moderating technical discussions and flagging content needing correction.
You'll participate in FME events and programs such as Breakfast of Champions, Special Interest Group meetups, and community webinars. A significant part of the role involves creating and supporting creative technical engagement initiatives—developing fun, interactive ways for FME users to learn and participate through contests, challenges, and hands-on experiences. You'll also support training content testing, technical Q&A, and special projects as needed. The role emphasizes thoughtful use of AI tools to support content development, research, and community workflows while maintaining accuracy and quality.
The Community Team works closely with Product, Customer Success, and Marketing to amplify the community's voice and foster collaboration, feedback, and knowledge exchange.
