Anthropic is seeking a Communications Manager to own external communications for the Claude Platform, its API product. This role sits within the Product Communications team and works closely with Platform product and engineering teams, Product Marketing, and Developer Relations.
You will shape how Claude Platform's work is understood externally, from flagship product launches to the steady cadence of capability releases and developer-facing news. Key responsibilities include:
• Own end-to-end communications for the Claude Platform, including capability releases, product updates, and developer-facing announcements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, newsletter writers, and creators covering AI platforms, enterprise software, and the API economy
• Prepare Platform leaders to be effective spokespeople for press, podcasts, panels, and other media engagements
• Partner with Product and Engineering to align external narratives with product positioning and support, while surfacing customer feedback back to internal teams
• Work across press, social, owned, and community channels with judgment about which channels best serve each moment and when to coordinate across multiple channels
You should understand how developers and enterprises build with APIs, be comfortable engaging with developer tools, and hold a clear point of view on what makes a product land.
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco, focused on creating reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The team includes researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working on beneficial AI.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
• Experience in communications, PR, or product marketing, including meaningful time on platform, API, developer, or enterprise products
• Understanding of both developer culture and enterprise buying, with judgment to read timing and tone when AI conversations become noisy
• Strong instincts for which product moments deserve spotlight and which don't; genuine curiosity about what makes a launch land
• Demonstrated ability to operate with high agency and low ego, with bias to action
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Preferred qualifications:
• 8-10 years of experience in communications, PR, or product marketing
• Communications experience at a developer platform, API-first, or enterprise software company
• Existing relationships with reporters and analysts covering AI platforms, enterprise tech, or the developer ecosystem
• Experience managing communications for AI or ML products
• Active in relevant online communities: follow key channels, understand Hacker News and developer social chatter, catch emerging trends early
