The Communications Manager will report to the Communications Lead and own day-to-day media relations, including pitching journalists, building relationships with key media contacts, and securing coverage across crypto, fintech, payments, and technology beats. The role executes global communications programs, drives executive thought leadership initiatives, and positions WalletConnect as a leading voice in financial infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include: pitching journalists and landing earned media coverage; building and maintaining relationships with priority journalists; owning media outreach for announcements, product launches, partnerships, and milestones; drafting press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, and spokesperson materials; managing inbound media inquiries and coordinating executive interviews; running executive thought leadership programs across media, conferences, podcasts, and events; securing speaking opportunities and contributed content placements; managing communications timelines for accurate, on-schedule announcements; and leading rapid-response communications during high-profile announcements.
Required qualifications: 3-5 years in communications, public relations, corporate communications, or media relations; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong international business and technology connections; proven track record of personally pitching and landing earned media coverage; ability to build and maintain journalist relationships; strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously; comfort in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience in fintech, payments, financial services, infrastructure technology, developer platforms, or crypto; existing relationships with fintech, payments, technology, or business media; experience at high-growth startups or scaling technology companies; experience working with international media and distributed teams.
