Anthropic is seeking a Communications Lead to establish and run the company's communications strategy across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH region), based in Munich. This is a first-in-market role reporting to the Head of EMEA Communications. You will own the regional communications strategy, translating Anthropic's global momentum, research leadership, and AI safety mission into narratives that resonate with mainstream, policy, and technical audiences. Key responsibilities include: - Developing and executing the DACH communications strategy, positioning Anthropic as a leading, admired technology company and serious economic force in Europe - Leading corporate communications initiatives that create landmark moments and high-quality reference pieces - Partnering with go-to-market teams to establish Claude's enterprise leadership and demonstrate Anthropic's responsible approach to safe AI development, particularly in regulated industries - Building policy communications that showcase AI's positive impact on science, education, and the public sector while navigating sensitive conversations around sovereignty, copyright, and regulation - Cultivating relationships with journalists, creators, and influencers shaping the AI debate in the region - Providing communications counsel and media preparation for company spokespeople and customer executives - Building team operations and coordinating agency support to scale storytelling efforts Ideal candidates bring approximately 10 years of communications experience, ideally including in-house roles at AI or high-growth technology companies. You should be genuinely excited about AI and committed to safe AI development. Strong media handling skills, particularly with German journalists, are essential. Deep knowledge of the European AI landscape—companies, founders, investors, journalists, and policymakers—is highly valued. Experience running international communications programs for US-headquartered tech companies with meaningful Germany exposure is preferred. You must be fluent in German and English; additional European language fluency is a plus. Anthropologic values candidates with direct AI company communications experience, existing relationships with key voices in Germany's AI debate, and background in financial services, healthcare, or life sciences communications. The company offers visa sponsorship and operates a hybrid policy requiring at least 25% office time, though some roles may require more.
