Checkmarx is seeking a Communications Director to lead global media relations, corporate communications, and thought leadership initiatives for the AI-powered application security platform. The role owns Checkmarx's global media strategy, brand narrative, and executive communications across 1,600+ customers in 70+ countries.
Key responsibilities include: developing and executing global media strategies that elevate brand positioning and product differentiation; building and maintaining relationships with key reporters, editors, and influencers in cybersecurity, AI, cloud, and enterprise technology; crafting high-impact media materials including pitches, press releases, op-eds, and talking points; identifying and preparing spokespeople for interviews and thought leadership opportunities; and leading regional PR agencies across US and international markets.
The director will own Checkmarx's core brand narrative and messaging framework, partnering with subject matter experts to develop speeches, presentations, and thought leadership content. This includes supporting internal communications to ensure alignment across teams.
The role requires monitoring global cybersecurity and AI trends, translating insights into timely media commentary, and providing strategic counsel on competitive positioning. The director will lead rapid-response PR programs, monitor breaking news, and coordinate fast-turn commentary with internal experts. This includes partnering with research, product, and security teams to develop and promote research-driven PR campaigns.
Measurement and reporting responsibilities include tracking media coverage and sentiment, delivering actionable insights, and conducting competitive media analysis to inform strategy. The ideal candidate has deep cybersecurity experience, exceptional media relations expertise, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to navigate today's fragmented media ecosystem with a sharp focus on AI and enterprise security.
