Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate to deploy intelligent systems into real environments at scale.
You will own the portfolio-wide communications strategy across Atoms' Food, Mining, and Transport businesses, building a coherent public narrative for a company operating across four distinct industries simultaneously. This is a strategic leadership role reporting directly to company leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the company-wide moment calendar, sequencing partnership announcements, fundraises, key hires, and product launches to compound into a coherent story rather than compete for attention.
- Build and run a vertical media network, recruiting and managing boutique agencies and individual operators embedded in each industry's press ecosystem instead of relying on a single centralized firm.
- Lead new-media strategy for Atoms leadership, identifying and securing placements with top-tier and niche podcasts, shows, and events relevant to each vertical's audience.
- Set channel and tier strategy across the newsroom, blog/Perspectives, and company LinkedIn.
- Drive customer-forward storytelling, shifting from Atoms talking about customers to structuring press moments where customers speak directly about their growth.
- Advise leadership directly on timing, framing, and risk of major public moments in a business where regulatory and partnership consequences are real.
- Own internal communications across four distinct businesses—major news, partnerships, hires, and launches communicated to employees first.
- Develop a crisis management playbook mapping realistic risk scenarios across each vertical with response strategies.
You should have 10+ years in communications, including direct experience building a comms function from zero at a high-growth company in a regulated or partnership-dependent industry. You need a track record of reporting directly into leadership as a strategic advisor, not just an executor. You bring range across product launches, funding announcements, executive comms, crisis response, and internal comms. You have experience managing a portfolio of boutique agency relationships in parallel. You can hold several distinct narratives at once without collapsing them into one generic voice. You understand substance-forward, low-combativeness media strategy and the asymmetric downside of adversarial press strategies for partnership-dependent businesses. Existing relationships in restaurant tech, industrial/mining press, or robotics are valuable.
