K2 Space is a Series D-funded aerospace company building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown. With over $1 billion in total funding and $1 billion in signed contracts across commercial and US government customers, K2 is mass-producing advanced satellite platforms for missions from low Earth orbit to deep space. The company plans multiple launches in 2027 and aims to scale to 100 satellites annually.
The Communications and Government Relations Specialist will provide operational and strategic support to K2's communications and government relations efforts in Washington, DC. This role bridges two functions, supporting both the Strategic Communications Director and the Director of Congressional Affairs.
Key responsibilities include: providing day-to-day support on media efforts, communication materials, and major company announcements; assisting with government relations initiatives including meeting prep and briefing materials; planning and executing communications and government relations campaigns; creating and managing visual assets (videos, photographs, website content); monitoring K2-related news and relevant industry stories; identifying speaking opportunities and coordinating conference attendance; managing association memberships and sponsorship tracking; drafting talking points, briefing documents, and press materials; monitoring legislative activity and policy developments; and coordinating with congressional offices, government agencies, and external stakeholders.
