GitLab is seeking a Commercial Account Executive for the US East region to serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and existing customers in the mid-market segment (250–3,999 employees). You will manage a broad book of business across varying opportunity sizes and project complexities, from agile teams to enterprise deployments.
In this role, you will own your territory as the CEO of your book of business, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through close and post-sale adoption. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining a healthy pipeline through consistent prospecting activity, documenting buying criteria and processes, creating accurate quarterly forecasts, and collaborating with business development, sales management, and cross-functional teams (Customer Success, Sales Development, etc.) to drive customer outcomes.
You will articulate GitLab's value proposition to Commercial prospects, focusing on how the platform enables DevSecOps, improves developer productivity, and accelerates digital transformation. You'll also work with the partner ecosystem to expand business, contribute to win/loss analyses, and share lessons learned across the sales and product teams. Travel to customer events and in-person meetings is expected.
The ideal candidate brings progressive SaaS sales experience, preferably with DevOps or development tools, and a track record of exceeding quota. You should be skilled in consultative selling techniques (MEDPICC, Command of the Message), have strong negotiation and presentation abilities, and demonstrate genuine interest in helping customers succeed. Experience with Git, software development tools, and application lifecycle management is preferred. You must be located in Eastern or Central US timezones.
