Astronomer is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to join its field team and deliver technical solutions to customer and prospect business problems. You will work with Apache Airflow, the industry-leading data orchestration platform, helping some of the world's largest enterprises adopt Astronomer's products and solve mission-critical data challenges.
In this role, you will implement Astronomer's software and services across complex, large-scale customer environments. You'll guide enterprises through their Apache Airflow journeys, acting as the core technical interface between customers, sales, and product teams to ensure solutions address real pain points and deliver measurable value.
You bring strong Kubernetes expertise (GKE, EKS, AKS, or OpenShift), proficiency in at least one programming language, and deep understanding of network architectures and distributed systems. You're comfortable working in terminal/CLI environments, troubleshooting complex SaaS infrastructure at scale, and leveraging major cloud provider APIs and tooling. You can read and work with code, use git effectively, and understand cloud-native data architecture patterns.
Excellent customer-facing and communication skills are essential—you'll explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely. Prior experience with Apache Airflow, workflow orchestration tools (Autosys, UC4, Temporal, Dagster, Prefect), Python/Go, enterprise data environments, infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible), or observability platforms (Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Vault) is a strong plus. 5+ years in data engineering or 3+ years in customer-facing technical roles are valued.
